What the remaster adds

The headline addition is Noir Mode. It renders the whole story in black and white, and you can switch it on or off at any time. Telltale's press release also mentions improved lighting, refined characters and environments, an updated interface, upgraded animation and audio, higher resolutions, and smoother performance. The bonus package has cast interviews, developer commentary, concept art, playable deleted scenes, and other archive material. For a side-by-side with the 2013 release, see remaster vs original.

Who is it for?

If you've never played it, The Wolf Among Us is a choice-driven detective story. You play Bigby Wolf, the reformed Big Bad Wolf, as he investigates a murder in a secret fairy-tale community in 1980s Manhattan. Gameplay is mostly dialogue choices, examining crime scenes, and timed action prompts. Returning players get the visual overhaul, Noir Mode, and bonus content. The remaster also arrives ahead of the sequel: Telltale has The Wolf Among Us 2 scheduled for 2027.

The Steam content notice covers frequent violence or gore, some nudity or sexual content, and general mature content. The PM Studios listing gives a fuller list of descriptors. Details are on the release page.
